Agility Training at Laleham Dog Training ClubPeople often think that agility is for fast dogs like border collies - and indeed, some agility clubs don't want to know you unless you are handling a border collie. But here at Laleham, just as with obedience, we welcome any dog (and any handler) of any breed, size and age (dogs must be over 1 year old before they can start). Whenever possible, we run Beginners' courses in blocks of Five weeks, where the dog (and handler) learn the basics and do jumps, tunnels, low dog walk and start learning weaves. As they advance, the dogs move up to Beginners Plus, then Intermediate and then Intermediate Plus (where dogs are at Grade 1 KC competition level). The courses at these levels are in blocks of Ten weeks, and on the 10th week, we have In House competitions. Take a look at the results page to see the different breeds of dogs that take part - and how well they do! Agility Classes - During the summer months (May to September) classes are held on weekday evenings. During the winter (October to April), classes are in the mornings at weekends). Each 10 week course costs £60 (plus £10 annual membership of the Club) Please note due to demand from existing members we are not currently able to add non-members to the agility waiting list. |
