Barbara Endersby - Assistant TrainerI have always loved animals and had guinea pigs and rabbits as a child. As a teenager I learned to ride which I found to be hard but great! After leaving school I studied to be a veterinary nurse. This gave me lots of experience with all sorts of animals both large and small. When I married, a wonderful old yellow Labrador was part of the deal. (my first dog!) I have owned a dog ever since; at one time having 3 at once. In between we also had 2 children. So I have had dogs in my life for 40 years. I have also had 3 horses and 3 ponies, both riding and driving them. At the moment I have 2 small ponies, left over from driving, both now retired. I came to the club to train my rough collie, Devon; got hooked, did bronze, silver, gold, and now do gold +, and agility. I also have another rough collie, Pheobe, who has also passed bronze, silver and gold and who has just started doing agility. I started assisting the senior trainers in August 2011 and have helped with classes for puppy, bronze, silver, and gold. I have assisted Cliff, Gill, and Lynn, so have observed different ways of teaching, and hopefully some of it has rubbed off! I have been on a 2 day course for methods of teaching and running a club, which was very interesting; and a 1 day course to learn more about the KCGC award scheme. |
