Laleham Dog Training Club

Dog Training Club

Ring Craft

Have you ever thought of showing your dog at Open Breed Shows? Fancy entering your pup in “Best Pedigree” at a companion show?

To show your dog off to its best advantage, you need to build a rapport with him so that he wants to show off for you. Judges won’t be impressed if he slouches around the ring, drags you at break neck speed or stops to scratch and sniff. You need to learn how to present him in a show ring and show off his finer points.

Ringcraft classes can also be used as the basis of training you and your dog on how it should be handled and presented even if you have no thoughts of entering the 'show scene'. They are not just for people wanting to show their dogs but for everybody with a dog, and they will teach the basics such as: - Socialisation with people and other dogs - Training your dog to walk on a lead nicely without becoming distracted by people or other dogs. Ringcraft classes will operate on the same basis as our Happy Hour Classes ie Half Price - £3 per dog per class and will be on Monday evenings. There is no course fee – you simply turn up and pay on the night. The Club has the advantage of being able to offer both indoor and outdoor training (weather permitting) and is open to ALL club members and to dogs of ALL ages, breeds and mixes. You don’t have to have a pedigree dog to take part.

Classes start on Monday 17th July at 8:00pm.  Please note that we are unable to provide parking at the farm unless you are a blue badge holder; instead, please park in the village car park which is free after 7:00pm.
